Greetings, In honor of Black History Month, I would like to invite you to participate in our 3rd Open Panel and Networking Reception . We had such a great time and received such positive feedback from the last Open Panel! The organization has highly encouraged us to do another Open Panel due to the honest and valuable advice the students received. The students will be bringing their resumes and an abstract thought of what they would like to do after college to gain your input and expertise on how they can enhance their college experience as well as achieve their goals. The event will be held on Tuesday, February 7th, 2012 at 7pm at the Joe Crowley Student Union room 402 and Great Room. The open panel will be held in room 402 and the networking reception will follow in the Great Room, refreshments and snacks will be served! If you are available and would like to be a panelist, please respond so we may have name tags and other necessities ready. We are hoping you are available and we are excited to hear your answers to the countless questions that we have as college students! Also, please feel free to pass this on to any community members that you would like to invite to be panelists or participants as well. Thank you immensely and we hope to hear your stories, advice, and expertise. Thank you for taking the time to consider again! Sincerely, Vice President Black Student Organization Nadeen Black

The WSGA annual tournament is approaching and we are expecting a huge turnout. The tournament dates are June 21-23, 2012, the host site is the Peppermill and the courses are Lakeridge and Redhawk. We, Al Avery (Tournament Chair) and the tournament committee are having a meeting Friday, January 27, 2012 and we would like to know your availability to meet with the group. I'm now President of WSGA and not longer the membership chair, but our new membership chair James White will be in attendance. It will be a short meeting and we would like to provide to you information and an update on WSGA activities. Thanks in advance for your help in making this event a success. Information will be provided with time and location at the hotel early next week. "As you walk down the fairway of LIFE you must smell the roses, for you only get to play one round." Dr. Granville L. From: Bill Nagel – Vice President, Reno Blues Society
EVENT: Reno Blues Society presents Grady Champion
DATE: Thursday, Feb 23, 2012
PLACE: The Underground, 555 East 4th St, Reno
DOORS: 7 PM, MUSIC STARTS AT 8pm
TIX: $10
The Reno Blues Society is proud to present Grady Champion, winner of The 2010 International Blues Challenge. Mr. Champion is a young, blues singer and harmonica player that has been compared to Sonny Boy Williamson, and people can hear exactly why on his Shanachie debut “Payin’ for My Sins” released August 24, 1999. The album includes a version of “Don’t Start Me to Talkin’” that really shows Grady’s high-energy singing and harmonica playing and an update of the traditional blues lament “Goin’ Down Slow” with an AIDS parable — a hard-bitten vignette of modern life. His revved-up, soulful vocalizing and the charm and insight he brings to his songwriting in numbers like the campy “My Rooster Is King” and the classic-sounding tale of infidelity “You Got Some Explaining to Do” (co-written by his producer Dennis Walker, who helped Robert Cray reach national fame) mark Grady as an important new talent.
